Like most artists, I just enjoy painting. I was born with a creative gene. When I'm in northern Michigan, I get the urge to paint just about everything I see. Our state motto is, "If you seek a pleasant peninsula, look about you."

My landscapes are a reflection of the beautiful topography and natural features that Michigan has to offer.  Steep sand dunes,  rolling hills dotted with cherry trees or lined with grape vines, sandy bays that fade into the atmospheric distance, and so much more.

I also love to fish, so I also dabble in Gyotaku printing.

Sometimes I just draw.  I try to get in some sort of creative projects each day, just for my own peace of mind, and because it's in my nature. It might be baking bread, or planting a garden, or laying stone for a walkway.  Soon I will be tapping maple trees to make some delicious maple syrup, and I might try to make some river birch syrup this year.  Something always comes into my mind that I would like to tackle.

I hope you too pursue your thoughts and dreams, because it is a joy!
